The Mid-Autumn Festival Carnival, held on September 22, 2024, was a tremendous success and marked the largest celebration of this cherished holiday in the Puget Sound region. With over 3,000 attendees, 22 performances, and more than 60 partnering organizations, it was a true testament to the strength and unity of our community.
The event, co-hosted by MICA and the City of Mercer Island, brought together families, friends, and neighbors to celebrate one of the most important traditional holidays in Chinese culture. From captivating performances on the main stage to hands-on cultural activities and an array of booths offering arts, crafts, and food, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
This year's festival not only provided a space for cultural celebration but also highlighted the incredible collaboration between local organizations, businesses, and volunteers. Their collective efforts ensured that this festival was an inclusive and welcoming experience for all attendees, offering sensory-friendly spaces and activities that embraced the diverse needs of our community.
We are immensely grateful for the support we received from our sponsors, partners, and volunteers. The overwhelming turnout and participation surpassed our expectations, and we are proud to have created a space where the community could come together to celebrate, connect, and learn.
As we reflect on the success of this event, we look forward to continuing to build on this momentum, bringing even more opportunities for cultural exchange and celebration in the future. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this festival such a memorable and meaningful occasion.
