Mercer Island Chinese Association recently hosted a captivating Tea Ceremony Workshop, bringing together community members to explore and appreciate the rich tradition of Chinese tea culture. Participants were guided through the intricate process of a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, learning about the history, significance, and techniques that make this practice a cherished art form.
The workshop began with an introduction to the different types of tea and their unique characteristics. Our expert, Ms. Zuo Fang, the founder of Teafairy Art and Culture Center, shared insights into the origins and cultural importance of tea in Chinese society, emphasizing its role in fostering mindfulness and tranquility.
Attendees had the opportunity to observe and participate in the meticulous steps of the tea-making process, from heating the water to selecting the appropriate tea leaves, and from brewing to pouring the tea.
